The Armoury :
Welcome to The Armoury. Not a field of interest for everybody, however, if you have to equip a small army with edged weaponry from the past or future, then this page is for you. In as much as The Magic Factory specializes in the creation and performance of magic illusion so too does it have the capability for illusion on the battle field.
The Armoury is a manufacturing capability for edged weaponry. We can make weapons in steel, by hand if requested, or mass produce stage weaponry in wood, foam and a variety of plastic products both translucent and opaque. Such weaponry is useful for full contact stunting applications.
The Team :
Engineering - Brent Blackie and Bricon Engineering - provide a full engineering capability -Several Lathes, Mills and Presses up to 30 tonne, Glass Bead blasting, Mig, Tig, Arc, gas welding, Resin casting , urethane mould making, pneumatic and hydraulic service engineering and much more. Brent has a wealth of obscure engineering experience. Building devices for a flaming dragon, batteries of air and pyrotechnic cannons, a collapsible rotating stage and some highly sophisticated pneumatic staging equipment. Brent will be attending as our mechanical engineer at our next trade fair in Lisboa Portugal in July 2000.
Prosthetic and Vacuum moulding - Shamus Fairhall - Shamus has spent many years perfecting advanced mechanisms for orthotics. His own business manufactures artificial limbs and orthotic mechanisms for the medical profession exporting most of his work to America. The specialist machinery that Shamus has developed for this work creates a workshhop that provides more than state of the art technique . Laminar flow heat oven. Conveyer fed vacuum moulding. 2.4 x 1.2 variable element pneumatically driven plastics oven. This knowledge when combined with Magic Factory applications produces an awesome capability to custom build and mass produce unique effects for magic and stage craft.

Design and Manufacture - Tara Okan is the curator and historian of a unique collection of early weaponry. A private reference museum dedicated to edged weapons of all ages. This collection of around 600 artifacts, dating from 1884 back to around 2735BC, is combined with a reference library cataloguing every known edged weapon of military usage from 1900 back to the Early Greek Empire, including European, Middle Eastern and Asian.
The library also contains obscure university papers and illustrations on the ancient weapons of various Pacific Cultures.In addition Tara has 14years in martial training disciplines including fencing as a New Zealand national representative, Archery and the combat use of long and short sword, mace and shield, flail, lance and sabre both on foot and on horse back.
